On the third day, he ate three plums, on the fourth day four strawberries, and on the fifth day five oranges. The little caterpillar had a big stomachache from eating so much fruit! After that, he ate one piece of chocolate cake, one ice cream cone, one pickle, one slice of swiss cheese, one slice of salami, one lollipop, one piece of cherry pie, one sausage, one cupcake, and one slice of watermelon. Short story 2. The Three Little Pigs

Once upon a time, there were three little pigs who decided to build houses for themselves. The first little pig built his house out of straw because it was easy. The second little pig built his house out of sticks. The third little pig worked hard and built his house out of bricks. One day, a big bad wolf came along and saw the first little pig in his straw house. He huffed and puffed and blew the house down! The frightened little pig ran to his brother's stick house. The wolf then came to the stick house and huffed and puffed and blew that house down too! Both pigs ran to the brick house. The wolf tried to huff and puff to blow down the brick house, but he could not blow it down. He climbed up onto the roof to go down the chimney. Just then, the third little pig took off the lid of a huge pot of boiling water. The wolf fell right into it and ran away, yelping "Oh no, oh no, oh no!" The three little pigs lived happily ever after in the brick house. Comprehension Questions: 1. What material did the first little pig use to build his house? 2. "This chair is too big!" Next, she sat in the second chair. "This chair is too big, too!" she wailed. So she tried the last chair. "Ahh, this chair is just right." But the chair broke into pieces!
